It explains the beauty, meaning, emotions and style of poetry. It developed over many centuries through the ideas of different Indian scholars. 2. Historical Development Pre-Classical Period: The Rigveda, Ramayana and Mahabharata contain early ideas of poetry, metaphors and literary expression.
